Puzzlement is designed so that your data stays with you. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal information, and we do not sell data to anyone.

What the app stores

• Your puzzle activity — which puzzles you play, daily completion, streaks, scores and edition details — is stored on your device.
• If you enable iCloud sync, this data is also stored in your private iCloud account so it can sync between your devices. It is transmitted and stored by Apple under your Apple Account; we cannot access it.
• Widget data is shared between the app and its widgets on your device only.

Clipboard

Puzzlement can detect puzzle results (for example, a Wordle share text) from your clipboard to record your score automatically. Clipboard contents are checked on-device only, are never transmitted anywhere, and anything that doesn’t look like a puzzle result is ignored.

Third-party puzzle websites

Puzzles open inside the app via each publisher’s website (for example, The New York Times, LinkedIn, The Washington Post). When you play, you are interacting with that publisher’s site, and their own privacy policy and cookies apply — the same as if you visited them in a browser. Puzzlement stores their website data (such as login cookies) on your device so you stay signed in; we never see your credentials. The app also fetches publishers’ site icons for display.

Puzzlement is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any puzzle publisher. It functions like a web browser: puzzles are loaded live from each publisher’s own website, and Puzzlement does not host or copy their content. All puzzles, game names, logos and trademarks are the intellectual property of their respective owners.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details. The app checks your entitlement status with Apple to unlock Puzzlement Plus features.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. No push-notification service is used.

Analytics

The app currently contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Emails you send us

If you contact us (for example, a support request or an in-app problem report), we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and we use it only to respond.

Children

Puzzlement does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this policy at this address and revise the date above.
